Flu Shots and Vaccination Information
Flu shots are now available at Lacamas Medical Group. We are happy to bill your insurance for them, or offer them at a low cost of $25 to those without insurance. The Center for Disease Control recommends that the following people get flu shots:
- all children age 6 months to 19 years
- pregnant women
- people over 50
- people of any age with certain chronic conditions
- people who live in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities
- people who live with or care for those who are at high-risk for complications from flu

Vaccination Information
There are changes in school requirements for school year 2008-2009:
- All children MUST be vaccinated for Hepatitis B, Kindergarten thru 11th grade.
- For Kindergarten entry, all children MUST have two doses of Varicella vaccine…. NO parental exemptions will be accepted!
- If the child has had the disease, they need documentation from the child’s doctor. If they do not have documentation, the child will need to have a blood test drawn to confirm disease…
- Lastly, one dose of Tdap is required for students in grade 6 & 7 whom are aged >11 years old IF it has been 5 years since their last dT-containing vaccine….for further information, please visit http://www.doh.wa.gov/cfh/immunize/schools.htm.
There are also changes for daycare/preschool attendance as of July 1, 2008:
- Children must have one dose of Varicella by age 16 months or must have documentation from healthcare provider or blood test to confirm disease.
We are now also offering Gardasil (the new HPV vaccine). It is given by appointment only, and you MUST check with your insurance company, as many are not yet authorizing payment for this vaccine.
